Class: A Tasting of Rare White-Seeded Cacao

Saturday February 1st 5:30 to 6:30
$10 per person
(Tickets are available at our store or by online invoice. Space is always very limited.)

The seeds of most fresh cacao pods are a pinky-purple in colour but there are a few trees which have seeds which are mostly, or entirely white. Porcelana would be one of the more well known examples of this. Some researchers feel these trees harken back to a an older, purer strain of cacao from before the advent of modern hybridizing and breeding. Which is fascinating if you are a botanist, but what do they actually taste like? Tonight you'll get a chance to sample some of the top “white-seeded” bars and see for yourself what makes them so special.
